FLORIDA - Here's a numerical look at Tuesday night's game between the Habs and the Panthers. 800 – Number of games that Tomas Plekanec has played with the Canadiens since the start of his NHL career, including Tuesday night’s tilt in Sunrise. GAME PREVIEW: CANADIENS (21-14-3) @ PANTHERS (20-12-4) TV: RDS, SN-E – 7:30 p.m. EST The Canadiens’ eight-game road trip rolls on with a tilt against the Atlantic Division rival Florida Panthers on Tuesday night at BB&T Center in Sunrise. Michel Therrien’s troops are coming off an important win in Tampa on Monday night, one that snapped a six-game losing streak and did a world of good for the group as a whole. After surrendering a 2-1 lead and then falling behind all in a span of 21 seconds with under seven minutes remaining in the third period, Dale Weise scored the equalizer 32 seconds later to send the game into overtime. Three-on-three play solved nothing, so the game would ultimately be decided in a shootout. Brian Flynn and Max Pacioretty both lit the lamp on Lightning netminder Ben Bishop to secure a 4-3 victory at Amalie Arena. Tomas Plekanec and Alex Galchenyuk also scored in regulation time, as the Canadiens put up at least three goals on the board for just the second time in the last 12 ga

TAMPA – It wasn’t the easiest way to get the job done, but Michel Therrien’s troops left Amalie Arena with a win and two big points in the bank on Monday night. After surrendering the tying and go-ahead goals to the Tampa Bay Lightning in a span of 21 seconds with under seven minutes remaining in the third period, the Canadiens rallied their way to their first victory since December 12 with a 4-3 shootout win over their Atlantic Division rivals. The victory snapped a lengthy six-game losing streak that inevitably grew increasingly frustrating as time marched on. “That’s a huge win for us. We deserved that one tonight, for us to get down like that in the third period and then come back. The goaltending was unbelievable. Pleky gets a huge goal there [to open the scoring in the first period]. Three lines contribute with goals. This one might be the best win of the year so far,” offered Dale Weise, who tied things up for the CH just 32 seconds after Ryan Callahan lit the lamp to put Tampa Bay ahead 3-2 at

TAMPA BAY - Here's a numerical look at Monday night's game between the Habs and the Lightning. 230 – Number of days that have elapsed since the Canadiens and Lightning last went head-to-head prior to Monday night’s tilt at Amalie Arena in Tampa. Back on May 12, the two teams met in a playoff game in the Sunshine State. Tampa Bay and Montreal squared off for the first time during the 2015-16 campaign on Monday night. 103 – Number of regular season games defenseman Mark Barberio played in the NHL entering Monday night’s game in Tampa, all of which came during his time as a member of the Lightning between 2012 and 2015. Barberio, who was recalled from the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps on Sunday afternoon, made his Canadiens debut at Amalie Arena. 7:02 – Time expired in the opening period on Monday night before the Lightning managed to register their first shot on netminder Mike Condon. The Canadiens had amassed nine shots on Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop by then, peppering him with shots from a variety of

The extended Montreal Canadiens’ family gathered together on Monday to pay their respects to Dickie Moore, who passed away on December 19, 2015 at the age of 84. Family, friends, former teammates and former Canadiens players came together at Mountainside United Church in Montreal to carry the Canadiens’ former number 12 to his final resting place. "Dickie was loved by his teammates. For me he was my idol. As a hockey player, watching him play made me want to succeed. Together with Jean Béliveau and the other former Canadiens’ legends, he showed me how to win. He was one of the great leaders of the Montreal Canadiens,” recalled Yvan Cournoyer, who proudly watched alongside Moore as their number 12 was retired on November 12, 2005. “I did not have the chance to play with him, but we united on the same ice to watch the Canadiens organization retire our jersey numbers. It is a beautiful memory. He was an exceptional player, a true winner. I was very honored to wear his number." Inducted into the Hockey H

TAMPA – Ben Scrivens brings a wealth of goaltending experience in the NHL ranks along with him to the Canadiens. Even if the Habs’ recent struggles aren’t uniquely a by-product of the play of both Mike Condon and Dustin Tokarski, having the option to turn to a netminder with a little more playing experience certainly can’t hurt. Knowing that Carey Price would be absent until at least mid-January, general manager Marc Bergevin decided to add an important insurance policy between the pipes by acquiring Scrivens from the Edmonton Oilers early Monday morning once the NHL’s roster freeze had expired. Plying his trade with the Oilers’ AHL affiliate in Bakersfield since the start of the season, the 29-year-old Spruce Grove, AB native was pleased to be back in an NHL locker room on Monday – even if it meant getting up at the crack of dawn to join his new team as quickly as possible. Scrivens was especially eager to get to Tampa so he could hit the ice at Amalie Arena to get accustomed to life with the CH. “I

Having lost their last six matches, the Canadiens will look to get back in the win column against Jon Cooper’s troops. In their most recent outing, the Canadiens suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Eastern Conference leading Washington Capitals. Rookie forward Daniel Carr scored the lone marker for the Habs in the loss, while Andrei Markov and Alex Galchenyuk drew the assists. Goaltender Mike Condon did his best to keep the Habs in the game, turning aside 30 of the 33 shots thrown on net by the Capitals. TAMPA – A lot like turkey dinner at Christmas, the Canadiens’ annual Florida road trip during the holiday season has become a tradition. For the 11th time since the 1996-97 campaign, the Canadiens will spend a few days at the end of December in the Sunshine State. In past years, this particular trip provided the perfect opportunity to escape Quebec’s harsh winters. Things are certainly different this time around as Mother Nature has been kind to Montrealers in recent weeks as 2015 winds down. Michel Therrien’s troops arrive in Florida looking to put their struggles behind them and get back on track. With that in mind, a two-game stop in the most populous region of the Southeastern United States couldn’t have come at a better time. The Canadiens have enjoyed success in these tilts in years past, and they’ll undoubtedly be looking to make it happen again. When the Habs hit the ice at Amalie Arena in Tampa on Monday night, they’ll try to improve upon the 6-3-0-1 record the club has amassed in Lightning
